Tim Long, a Miami based filmmaker, was developing a documentary for Miami PBS called A Century In The Sun: Henry Flagler and the Making of Modern Florida. He needed a designer that could help create the title and intertitle sequences that he could edit into the film.
The design is an homage to Florida in the late 1800s/early 1900s which was where the documentary would open. Halftone screen bitmaps were layered and colorized to create a textural look and feel. The gradient wash on top of the images gives it a bit more modern aesthetic. .
