The Paper Trail is a website Domtar Paper created to educate consumers on their sustainability practices. The site allows a user to enter in their paper order and the site calculates the environmental impact that order had. It also features the social and economical impacts of that particular paper.
This design uses a desktop photography style, that was actually all created by compositing silhouetted objects in Adobe Photoshop. The concept was to give a vintage National Park look with objects that would feel like they are right out of a ranger station. The site would further feature vintage typography, but otherwise utilize a very modern full screen aesthetic where the tabletop would slide and shift depending what portion of the site you were on. Even the Google maps API, would be altered by using a folder map texture PNG to simulate an old folded pocket map.
